What is there still to be said against intra-ocular lenses?

On the basis of 400 cataract extractions with lens implantation, almost all performed by Binkhorst's extracapsular method, the author comes to the conclusion that, after more than 6 years' experience with this method, he sees no essential contraindications to the systematic implantation of an intra-ocular lens after cataract extraction. Detailed attention is paid to the necessary working conditions, the operative method and the operation results.
