    Background:

    • Benign breast disease (BBD) is a common condition in women.
    • Recent hypotheses suggested a link between methylxanthine intake (from coffee and tea) and BBD or breast cancer.
    • Investigating dietary factors is crucial for understanding BBD etiology.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between coffee and tea consumption and benign breast disease.
    • To evaluate the role of methylxanthine intake in the development of BBD.

    Main Methods:

    • A case-control study design was employed.
    • 323 women diagnosed with benign breast disease were compared with 1,458 healthy controls.
    • Coffee and tea consumption patterns were assessed for both groups.
