    Background:

    • Sickle cell anemia patients are susceptible to infections.

    Observation:

    • A 26-year-old male with sickle cell anemia developed nephrotoxicity.
    • This occurred during concurrent intravenous administration of gentamicin and cephalothin for Klebsiella infection.

    Findings:

    • Elevated serum creatinine and gentamicin levels indicated kidney damage.
    • Dosage adjustments and discontinuation of gentamicin were necessary.
