Psychobiosocial "Maps;" a useful tool in milieu therapy and psychiatric education
Abstract:
This paper introduces the use of psychobiosocial maps as a tool to improve staff communications in milieu therapy and in psychiatric education. A psychobiosocial map is a dynamic formulation presented in graphic format showing the interrelationship of factors that originate, intensify or decrease pathological and health behavior. A guideline for constructing this tool is suggested and a case example is given demonstrating its application in clinical psychiatry.
