    Summary

    Platelet n-acetylneuraminic acid (NANA) was significantly lower in cancer patients, while serum NANA was significantly higher. These findings suggest NANA may be a biomarker for malignant disease.

    Background:

    • n-Acetylneuraminic acid (NANA) is a key sialic acid with roles in cellular processes.
