[The position of the uterus in vivo (author's transl)]

Version, flexion and position of the uterus was checked by sonography in 152 women. In contradiction of the common opinion that anteflexion is usually combined with anteversion, only 20.3% of the women showed a marked bend between the axes of the corpus and cervix. Retroflexion was observed in nearly all cases of retroversion. With regard to lateroversion, a significant inclination of the uterus to the right was seen in women with anteversion (60.9%), whereas the opposite trend was observed with the retroverted uterus.
