    Background:

    • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) poses significant challenges in patient management.
    • Effective surgical anti-reflux techniques are crucial for long-term patient outcomes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the efficacy and safety of a specific semifundoplication technique for GERD.
    • To evaluate the functional outcomes and complication rates of this surgical approach.

    Main Methods:

    • A cohort of 158 patients with GERD underwent semifundoplication with intra-abdominal esophageal fixation.
    • The valve was sutured to the diaphragm for fixation.

    • Excellent immediate functional results were observed in 156 out of 158 patients.
