    Background:

    • Gastrointestinal nematodes and cestodes are common in domestic cats, posing health risks.
    • Mebendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, but its efficacy and safety in cats require specific investigation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of mebendazole paste in treating natural infections of Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Toxocara cati, and Dipylidium caninum in cats.

    Main Methods:

    • Cats with natural infections were treated orally with mebendazole paste daily for 3 days at doses of 11 mg/kg, 22 mg/kg, or 33 mg/kg.
    • Efficacy was assessed by parasite egg counts and worm recovery.
    • Clinical observations monitored for any adverse effects.
