    Bone-conduction (BC) thresholds are influenced by contralateral masking levels. Higher masking levels generally resulted in higher BC thresholds, but remained consistent with ANSI reference standards.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the impact of varying contralateral masking levels on bone-conduction thresholds in normal-hearing listeners.
    • To compare BC thresholds obtained under different effective levels (EL) of masking.
    • To evaluate the agreement between measured BC thresholds and the ANSI S3.26-1981 reference thresholds.
