Dermatoglyphics in unipolar depression. Relevance of family history

Qualitative dermatoglyphic features have been studied in 120 patients with unipolar depression and analysed with special reference to the presence or absence of similar cases in the close relatives. Significant differences were observed between the two groups of patients which give support to the assumption of aetiological heterogeneity between isolated and familial cases.
