EMG as an aid in the retrieval of disinserted extraocular muscle. A case report

In a 57-year-old man the traumatically disinserted inferior rectus muscle was located in the orbit with the help of EMG, and the muscle was re-attached to the globe. Post-operatively good ocular motility and comfortable binocular vision was regained. This seems to be the first report of the use of EMG recordings for the retrieval of a lost extraocular muscle.
