    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate ejection ventricular function using regional indexes in patients with rheumatic mitral stenosis.
    • To compare these indexes between patients and healthy controls.

    • Studied 22 patients with mitral stenosis and 12 healthy controls.
    • Measured basal, medial, and apical mean velocity of circumferential shortening (VMAC), ejection fraction (EF), mid-systolic ejection fraction (FE 50), and relative ejection fraction (REF).
