[Experience with using amedin in children with movement disorders of extrapyramidal and labyrinth origin]
Insights
Amedine effectively treats motor and speech disorders in children with muscular dystonia. The drug showed high therapeutic benefits for conditions like tonic cervical and labyrinth reflexes and torsion spasm.
Area of Science:
- Neurology
- Pediatrics
- Pharmacology
Background:
- Muscular dystonia can cause significant motor and speech impairments in children.
- Previous data suggested amedine's potential efficacy in these disorders.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the therapeutic effectivity of amedine in pediatric patients with motor disorders.
- To assess amedine's impact on extrapyramidal and labyrinthine motor disturbances.
Main Methods:
- Amedine was administered to 50 children aged 3.5 months to 18 years.
- Patients presented with motor disorders of extrapyramidal and labyrinthine origin.
Main Results:
- High therapeutic effectivity of amedine was observed.
- Significant improvement was noted in infants with increased pathological tonic cervical and labyrinth reflexes.
- Amedine demonstrated efficacy in school-aged children with torsion spasm.
Conclusions:
- Amedine is a highly effective treatment for specific motor and speech disorders in children.
- The drug shows particular promise for infantile reflex abnormalities and pediatric torsion dystonia.
Abstract:
Using previously obtained data concerning the effectivity of amedin in motor and speech disorders due to muscular dystonia the drug was used for the treatment of 50 children from 3.5 months to 18 years, with motor disorders of an extrapyramidal and labyrinth nature. A high therapeutical effectivity of amedin in an increased pathological activity of tonic cervical and labyrinth reflexes in infants and in torsion spasm of school age children is demonstrated.
