Studies on parasites of African snakes
Abstract:
As part of the studies on the parasites of wild life, forty (40) snakes caught by trapping were examined for blood and gastro-intestinal parasites. Capillaria, Trichomonas intestinalis, Eimeria bitis, Ascaris and oxyurids were the the gastro-intestinal parasites found while Haemoproteus columbae was the only blood parasite found. In this investigation, parasites found in the snakes were identified as the public health importance of the disease examined.
