Spinal cord swelling and candidiasis. A case report

• Myelography revealed fusiform swelling of the spinal cord in a patient with Hodgkin's disease.
• Autopsy confirmed Candida infection as the cause of the spinal cord swelling.

Findings:

• Candida infection can cause spinal cord swelling.
• This is a rare but serious complication in immunosuppressed patients.

Implications:

• Fungal infections should be considered in the differential diagnosis of spinal cord swelling.
• Early diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections are crucial in immunosuppressed cancer patients.
