Clinical and behavioural assessments: a study on the outcome of behaviour therapy in neurotic patients

The present study compares two independent evaluations of the outcome of behavioural therapy in 33 phobic patients. The raters were a psychiatrist not involved in the therapeutic process and behaviour therapists. Assessments were done before and after four months of therapy. They concerned intensity of fears, anxiety, depressive affects, social impairment. The results indicated a significant agreement on the symptomatic level and on the global evaluation. No significant agreement was found on the level of "well-being".
