Development of a curriculum for the preparation of phlebotomists

Automation and other factors have produced a sharp growth in the volume of laboratory testing. This has created the need for a new position on the laboratory team: the phlebotomist. This paper describes one medical center's experience in the creation of a curriculum for the training of phlebotomists.
