    Background:

    • Central serous choroidopathy (CSC) is a condition affecting the retina.

    • Associated findings included doughnut-shaped exudative flecks and shifting subretinal fluid.
    • Fluorescein angiography showed extensive retinal pigment epithelial disturbances and dye leakage.

    • Steroids and antibiotics were ineffective treatments.
    • Photocoagulation rapidly resolved the exudative retinal detachment.
    • Spontaneous improvement was also observed in some patients.

    Implications:

    • This severe CSC variant requires specific treatment considerations.
    • Photocoagulation appears to be an effective therapeutic option.
    • Variable visual outcomes highlight the potential for permanent vision loss.
