[Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy of stomach cancer]

The current status of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy of the gastric cancer was reviewed. The results obtained from the various studies performed in the countries other than Japan have been negative or equivocal mainly because of the characteristics of patients, and additional years for analysis is required. The many problems of surgical adjuvant chemotherapy including regimen, dosage, timing, schedule, intensity and secondary tumor development were discussed.
