Abstract:
Methods are developed for approaching evaluation of the natural and artificial selection factors in breeded populations. The natural selection pressure on dairy heifers was found to be considerably higher under the industry conditions than under the stud ones. In breeding stud cows the natural artificial selection ratio is 1:3. If the selection trends coincide the natural selection strengthens the artificial one and vice versa.
