    • Lead poisoning can present with diverse and sometimes unclear etiologies.
    • Identifying the source of exposure is critical for effective patient management.

    Observation:

    • A 66-year-old patient presented with clinically manifest lead poisoning.
    • Initial investigations failed to identify the source of lead exposure.

    Findings:

    • The patient had been unknowingly inhaling lead-contaminated snuff for several years.
    • Discontinuation of snuff use led to symptom resolution and normalization of laboratory findings within two years, with the exception of slightly elevated erythrocyte protoporphyrins.

    Implications:

    • Inhaled lead-contaminated snuff is a potential, albeit unusual, source of chronic lead exposure.
    • Prompt source elimination is key to reversing lead poisoning effects and improving patient outcomes.
