    Summary

    A paraspinal muscle myxoma caused spinal cord compression and leg weakness in a patient. Surgical removal of the tumor relieved pressure, significantly improving the patient's mobility.

    • Paraspinal muscle myxomas are uncommon neoplasms that can affect spinal structures.

    Observation:

    • A patient presented with a history of back pain and progressive paraparesis.
    • Imaging revealed a thoracolumbar paraspinal muscle myxoma causing significant spinal cord compression.

    Findings:

    • Surgical resection of the paraspinal myxoma was performed.
    • Spinal cord decompression was achieved during the tumor removal procedure.

    Implications:

    • Complete tumor removal and spinal decompression led to substantial recovery of motor function.
    • This case highlights the importance of considering rare tumors in the differential diagnosis of spinal cord compression.
