    Background:

    • Cervical spinal cord injury (SCI) requires prompt diagnosis and management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the utility of Pantopaque myelography in diagnosing cervical spinal cord compression in emergency settings.
    • To assess the impact of myelography findings on surgical decision-making and patient outcomes.

    Main Methods:

    • Fifty-eight patients with suspected cervical SCI underwent emergency Pantopaque myelography.
    • Myelographic findings were correlated with clinical status and the need for surgical decompression.
    • Neurological outcomes were assessed post-operatively in surgically treated patients.

    Main Results:

    • Twenty-five percent of patients showed spinal cord compression on myelography after traction.
    • Less than half of those with compression required emergency surgery based on myelographic defects.
