A minicomputer network for diverse operating systems and languages
Journal of Medical Systems
|January 1, 1980
Abstract:
Minicomputer networks have been proposed as a method of cost-effectively sharing system resources (data, programs, peripherals, etc.). The greatest impediment to the realization of such networks lies in the diversity of operating systems, languages, and input/output conventions now in use. An approach is described that makes possible the automatic sharing of data and resources among a variety of operating environments supporting multiple languages.
