Pitfalls in sonographic diagnosis of abdominal pregnancy

Abdominal pregnancy is relatively rare, with an estimated frequency of 1/3,000 pregnancies in this country. We have described serial sonographic findings in an abdominal pregnancy from 28 weeks to term. Particular emphasis is placed on the pitfalls facing the sonographer in the diagnosis of advanced abdominal pregnancy.
