[CT and angiography in hepatic metastases (author's transl)]

In a series of patients affected by hepatic metastases, the authors have found a diagnostic accuracy of 84% by means of CT, poorly inferior to that of angiography: 163 patients were studied by means of angiography, 88 by CT, 12 with both techniques besides scintigraphy, echotomography and other investigations. In many patients when scintigraphy and echotomography do not lead to a diagnosis, CT can avoid an angiographic investigation. Nevertheless angiography must be performed in all those patients in which the investigations suggest a possible surgical intervention. Despite employing all possible investigations, there are some cases in which the hystological diagnosis of the lesion can be reached only by optic by means.
