[Finsterer's subtotal gastrectomy--still an up-to-date surgical procedure? (author's transl)]

Using the results of a retrospective study, Finsterer's subtotal gastrectomy for treating the so-called "non resectable" duodenal ulcer is discussed. Especially when the hepato-duodenal ligament is affected, the Finsterer operation can be regarded as a suitable up-to-date method.
