Abstract:
A method is described to determine the amount of protein of bacteria grown in agar. Amino acid contents of hydrolysates of agar cultures are compared with the amino acids in hydrolysates of the same bacteria grown in a liquid medium. In the latter medium also the amount of bacterial protein is determined. From these data the protein content of bacteria grown in agar can be calculated.
