    Background:

    • Understanding the range of motion in the elbow joint is crucial for assessing functional limitations.
    • Quantifying elbow flexion and forearm rotation during activities of daily living (ADLs) provides objective data for clinical applications.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To measure the specific degrees of elbow flexion and forearm rotation (pronation and supination) needed for various daily activities.
    • To establish a baseline for normal elbow motion during ADLs.

    Main Methods:

    • Thirty-three healthy individuals (18 women, 15 men) participated in the study.
    • An electrogoniometer was used to simultaneously measure elbow flexion and forearm rotation.
    • Participants performed fifteen different activities of daily living.

    • Activities like dressing and hygiene require a wide range of elbow flexion (15 to 140 degrees) and forearm supination (0 to 50 degrees).
