    • To measure pulmonary diffusing capacity (DLco) and functional residual capacity (FRC) in newborn lambs during the first 48 hours of life.

    • These findings highlight dynamic changes in neonatal lung function shortly after birth.
    • The concentration of carbon monoxide used in the test gas did not affect DLco measurements.
