[Intracellular ribonucleases from Penicillin brevicompactum and their natural inhibitors]
Abstract:
The ability of the fungus Penicillium brevi-compactum for the synthesis of intracellular ribonucleases and their inhibitors was examined. Activities of ribonucleases and their inhibitors were found to vary with the culture growth. As a result of isopropanol precipitation of the cell-free homogenate, ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and gel filtration on Sephadex G-75, two fractions were obtained, they being inhibitor complexes with acid and alkaline intracellular ribonucleases.
