[Current data on diarrhea of Vibrio etiology. I. Current studies on diarrhea caused by Vibrio cholerae 0:1]
Abstract:
Cholera, a problem of public health, as well as the other diarrheas included in the notion of diarrheic disease of infectious aetiology, has been the subject during the last two decades of extensive investigations, whose results tend to modify classical knowledge and therefore the mode of understanding of the diarrheic disease in general and of cholera in particular. The authors review recent progress in the domain of taxonomy, pathogeny (enterotoxins-immunodeterminants), sensitivity to antibiotics and chemotherapeutical agents, problems of epidemiology, bacteriological diagnosis (atypical aspects) phagotypes and vibriocin typing, active immunization.
