Spontaneous obliteration of carotid-cavernous fistulas

We have described a patient with a carotid-cavernous fistula filling from both ends of a torn meningohypophyseal artery, with subsequent spontaneous resolution proven by angiography. No cause for the fistulas' obliteration could be identified, and the patient continues to do well four years later.
