Identification of the chicken serum proteins by immunoelectrophoretic methods
Poultry Science
|September 1, 1978
Abstract:
Normal chicken serum examined by Laurell's crossed immunoelectrophoresis, using rabbit anti-chicken serum, gave a total from 38 to 40 precipitation arcs. All precipitates were characterized by staining intensity and morphology. The individual precipitates were identified by electrophoretic position, monospecific rabbit antisera against individual human serum proteins, goat anti-chicken immunoglobulins, binding properties, and specific staining methods. By these methods, it has been possible to identify 20 precipitates.
