[Clinico-dynamic features of obsessive-phobic neurosis with onset during involution and old age]

A study of 46 patients with obsessional neurosis with an onset in the presenium and senium demonstrated significant modifications of the clinical picture and its development. The study also showed that changes in the clinical picture were due to age changes proper, involutional-climacteric and cerebrovascular factors. It is shown that with the age manifestations of obsessive-phobic neurosis become more incomplete, alleviated, stereotypical, with an increased tendency towards a nonprogressive development (attack-like or inert).
