Abstract:
The diet including a considerable amount of sun-flower oil, unlike the respective diet including lard, increases the rate of incorporation of newly synthetized fatty acids into phosphoglycerides, the rate of oxidation of exogenous fatty acids and the rate of their use in the cholesterol synthesis. It also raises the amount of protein in the liver of experimental animals. At the same time the control values of the lipid protein ratio remain unchanged.
