    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effects of dietary vitamin E on aging variables in mice.
    • To determine if antioxidant administration influences lifespan and age-related diseases.

    Main Methods:

    • C3H/He and LAF1 mice received a diet supplemented with 0.25% vitamin E.
    • Control groups received a standard diet.
    • Lifespan, tumor incidence, collagen content, and lipofuscin levels were assessed.

    • Vitamin E increased mean lifespan by reducing early-life mortality.
    • A lower incidence of fatal tumors was observed in both mouse strains.
