    Endogenous prostaglandins, likely Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), tonically suppress canine antral muscle activity. Indomethacin increased electrical and mechanical responses, an effect reversed by exogenous PGE2.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effect of endogenous prostaglandins on the electrical and mechanical activity of canine antral circular muscle.
    • To determine the influence of Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) on gastric muscle responses.
