Abstract:
The Liss (Low Ionic Strength Solution) technique was compared with the enzyme- and saline-albumin-technique for the cross-matching-procedure. The tests were performed in parallel. The main advantage of Liss in erythrocyte-antibody-detection is to hasten and to raise the sensitivity of the reaction. The investigations in Liss show a remarkable decrease of the performing time for the corss-matching-procedure. Despite extended incubation time during Liss-antiglobulin-testing false positive results did not occur.
