[An approximate solution to the integral equation by using non serial cuts (author's transl)]

The problem formulated and resolved by WICKSELL is reformulated for a new technique of quantitative cytology utilizing non-serial cuts instead of serial sectioning. With a technique borrowed from numerical analysis an approximate solution can be obtained. Theoretical results are in agreement with experimental results obtained using a mixture of red blood cells from humans and rats.
