[Responses of neurons of the dorsal hippocampus to low-frequency photostimulation]

The spontaneous activity and evoked responses of the CA-1 and CA-3 hippocampal neurons to single and low frequency light flashes revealed in adult unanesthetized immobilized cats neurons seemingly indifferent to light flashes and neurons sensitive to visual stimulation: some of them changed their spontaneous activity, others generated "specific" response consisting of early phasic and late tonic components, or only phasic components of various complexity.
