Abstract:
The incidence of influenza-virus-diseases of man within the last decade has been described. Mortality depends on herd immunity and virulence of the actually present epidemic influenza-virus-strain. Due to permanent changes of the antigenic composition of the epidemic virus strain it is not possible to give a prognosis for the future winter season of influenza.
