    Background:

    • Vascularly induced disc edema is a rare condition affecting young individuals.
    • It presents with visual disturbances and specific funduscopic findings.

    Observation:

    • Six cases demonstrated transient visual decrease, impaired pupillary reflexes, and altitudinal field defects.
    • Fundus examination revealed pale discs with segmental arterial constrictions, sheathing, or sclerosis.
    • Retinal findings included splinter hemorrhages, cotton-wool spots, and peripapillary ischemia.

    Findings:

    • Fluorescein angiography showed slow retinal circulation, arterial laminar flow, and patchy choroidal ischemia.
    • Disc leakage was common, often irregular and following arterial segments.
    • Three cases improved with steroids, suggesting an inflammatory arterial disease.

    Implications:

    • This condition differs from ischemic optic neuropathy and papillophlebitis due to distinct vascular involvement.
    • Premature arteriosclerosis was diagnosed in three cases.
    • Prompt recognition and management are vital for visual prognosis in these patients.
