    Summary

    The study found a surprisingly large normal wall segment (NWS) in stenotic coronary arteries, even in severe obstructions. This challenges assumptions about coronary artery disease progression and treatment.

    • Results may influence understanding of unstable angina pectoris pathogenesis.
    • Implications for pharmacological and mechanical dilatation strategies for coronary obstructions.
