    Summary

    Internal urethrotomy using the Sachse urethrotome for urethral strictures showed a higher recurrence rate than clinical results indicated. Patient satisfaction varied, with half fully satisfied and others less so.

    Background:

    • Urethral strictures pose a significant clinical challenge.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the long-term efficacy of internal urethrotomy with the Sachse urethrotome for treating urethral strictures.
    • To compare objective recurrence rates with subjective patient satisfaction.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective follow-up of 30 patients treated with Sachse internal urethrotomy.
    • Postoperative assessment included retrograde urethrography and uroflowmetry.
    • Patient satisfaction was assessed through subjective reporting.
