    Summary

    Patients with reflux oesophagitis or symptoms of reflux show a reduced lower oesophageal sphincter pressure increase after pentagastrin stimulation. However, nearly half exhibit normal pressure responses, suggesting complex mechanisms in gastroesophageal reflux disease.
