    Background:

    • Sixteen keratophakia procedures were performed on nine non-human primates.
    • Various hydrogel lenses with water content ranging from 38% to 79% were used as donor lenticules.

    • Lenses were cryolathed, sometimes with modified computer programs, before insertion.
