[Echocardiographic diagnosis of bacterial endocarditis (authors' transl)]

Abstract:
Five cases of bacterial endocarditis are reported to illustrate typical findings in the echo-cardiogram. Serial echocardiograms provide a non-invasive method of determining localisationand extent of vegetations or lesions, as well as haemodynamic changes. This facilitates early consideration of possible surgical valve replacement.
