    • This bronchial abnormality led to air trapping in the left lung.

    • A specific bronchial anomaly characterized by a lack of cartilage support was identified.
    • The anomaly was associated with pectus excavatum and recurrent respiratory symptoms.
    • Congenital heart disease was present in two of the affected children.

    Implications:

    • The association between bronchial anomalies and pectus excavatum may be underrecognized.
    • Early identification of these bronchial abnormalities is crucial for timely intervention.
    • Further research is warranted to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and prevalence of this association.
