Principles of design and the dynamics of movement of flaps

Forethought about the design of flaps and understanding of the dynamics of their movement are necessary to their success and to cosmetically acceptable results. These considerations are discussed, and techniques are described and illustrated for advancement, rotation, and rhomboid flaps.
